“With very few exceptions, EMR (systems alone) are not meeting all ACO needs, causing many third-party products to be invited to the ACO discussion,” said report author Erik Bermudez. “As we look at where healthcare is headed and the rapid growth in the number of physician-led ACOs, we see that this area will only increase in importance. We want to put a spotlight on the enabling technology within these ACOs.”
Categories included data sharing, risk stratification, care management, referral management, reporting and patient engagement. On a nine point scale, where the average EHR system scored a 6.3, eClinicalWorks rated 7.0 for meeting ACOs needs and was named the ‘most used across the stated functional categories.’
eClinicalWorks has received positive reception to its eClinicalWorks Care Coordination Medical Record (CCMR) solution since launching it and is currently working with approximately 50 ACOs. This week, the company announced Antelope Valley ACO will be using eClinicalWorks CCMR for population health management.
“We recognized early that many physicians were forming ACOs along with participating in shared-savings programs, and ensured that our innovative technologies adapted to this trend,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “Because of these efforts, we’re thrilled that eClinicalWorks has received such a high rating from physician-led ACOs. Our goal has always been – and will continue to be – providing our customers with the most complete offerings for improving healthcare together.”
eClinicalWorks CCMR provides organizations visibility into a patient’s care across all settings, facilitates smooth transitions of care, engages patients and providers in preventative care, improves outcomes among populations and reduces costs. A vendor-neutral, open network securely connects ambulatory EHRs with hospital in-patient systems and payer claim feeds, including CMS, to provide cost and utilization for services delivered to patients.
Included in CCMR, eClinicalWorks Population Health Management Analytics uses closed-loop analytics to deliver reporting, alerting and messaging capabilities necessary to manage population health. Dashboards can be shown at the community level to determine and monitor adherence of clinical process and outcomes, including medication recalls and chronic disease management. Care coordination and analytics work together for a collaborative care framework.
